My name is Andy and I am a Lead Application Developer for a large US financial institution.  I have roughly 10 years of IT experience specifically in the Open Source world.  My current environment consists of the Catalyst MVC driven by DB2 on the Solaris platform.  In the past, I've developed using strictly the LAMP stack, but at a company this size LAMP is not "enterprise" enough for their comfort levels.  With the LAMP experience coming at much smaller companies with far less resources, I inevitably picked up the added hats of Linux SA and MySQL DBA.  These other job functions needed to be done efficiently and in a timely fashion so I could get back to my LAMP or Catalyst development.  That means working smarter not harder!  My intention for this blog is to share some of the tricks, one-liners, and various code I have used to make the job easier.  I hope it helps you too!
